Rice Burner

I'm having a lot of slow arriving messages with this new version of MSN. Its like a car that has been modified to look 'nice' (nice to the owner and maybe a select crowd, but tacky to the rest of us), but not perform better.

My messages have been coming real slow.
Slow like a few days later kind of slow

I was trying to click someone elses name but clicked on Wilfred's.

And because of this I think Wilfred must be feeling mighty proud of himself. Anyway, here's the message:

So I checked the history to see what I had said to bring make him bring up his pride, and quite frankly, money drain. (Just give me the money. I sure could use it to pay for my intended university degree.)

I couldn't help but laugh, it sure smelled like this. Also, here's the rice burner link.
And now I do remember. I was playing with wikipedia's random article function (that was before I wrote about the find better things to do post).

I quote Nick's facebook note to the ATFKERS (The time has come), because in truth, I doubt anyone is jealous of the kiddo owning a car, certainly not me. If theres something to be jealous about, it would be that parents are willing to throw money at their spoilt child just because. (I'd certainly like to be spoiled once in a while.)

And though its true I have a few sad stories here and there, doesn't everybody have some kind of sad story too ? How would you know what is pleasure, if you have never experienced pain ?
How would you know what is light if there were no darkness ? I hope you get my point.

Speaking of cars, I was talking to a few of the engineers in my company's technical team, because out of 6, only 1 drives. One guy told me that it was because he prioritised buying a house first, another began to explain to me why it wasn't worth buying, and went into details such as usage (How often you need to use it), depreciation (cars rarely, if ever increase in value), and one factor that I never really thought of, your earnings per hour versus the cost & life of the car per hour (Can you earn more than enough to maintain the car and still live comfortably (and support your family)?). He went on to say that it would be most worthit to have a car if you need to move around alot and each decision you make could earn you thousands.

Argh engineers, always breaking stuff down for the real lowdown.

The one who did drive (also a Hyundai Getz btw), had his reasons. If you guessed that it's to show off too , you've got it wrong. This guy is in his late 20's, is already married, and is studying at NTU. His wife is working too. Now do remember that this company is in Loyang.

Repeated for emphasis: LO-fucking-YANG

That means he has to travel from east to west to get to class, and sometimes pick his wife up along the way too (I know because I rode once). And he has to speed all the way just to be on time! Now that's justified.

Not very many people own cars just to show off in a feeble attempt to make others feel jealous. If I wanted to, I guess I could write more, but I think that I have responded sufficiently.

In other news, school is going to start. Our QSMM lecturer can joke one. Promise.

In more other news, nkt's brother was punched by a known attacker. The visible damages were a heavily swollen right cheek with black eye. Upon visiting the doctor, it was found that both eyes were swollen too. Fancy that, swelling two eyes with one punch. nkt seriously had enough of his brother openly and defiantly disobeying and threatening his mother. nkt knows that he was wrong to have done so, but is not sorry. nkt knows that violence is not the best way to go. nkt is not sure if there's still a chance to change direction. But he still tries.

Oh, and Nick and Alvin if you're reading this and you're considering pulling me to church. No. If I went now I'd be going for the wrong reason. But I'm not going to explain myself here.
