Review: New Balance M782BK

Why I bought it.
1. Lack of wide foot shoe choices in Queensway.
2. Did not use the crappy soft mesh, instead uses a (stronger?) wire gauze thingy.
(I dislike the soft mesh because it tears after kicking your average soccer ball a few times.)
3. The parts where the foot casing joins the sole looked reinforced sand-blasted,
my previous shoes had started creasing and the sole seperated from the casing at the ball of the foot

Period of usage: Since around Feb 07 while in NYJC ODAC, after that for on-and-off runs to slow the decline of my physical conditioning (or lack of) until we admission into NP, then for about 2 or 3 or more months of training in canoeing (along with the hope of a lot of CCA points), and finally, whenever I decided to go for a run (which eventually fell to a low of once a fortnight but now averages twice a week), and whenever we were required to wear shoes, and to work (attachment, which is now).

Activities: Running on pavement & track (albeit quite slowly), Vertical Marathon (Staircases), Weight Lifting, Walking and just One game of soccer (Haven't played since).

As you can see, near the 'N' the mesh isn't some loose, soft crappy one, and where the shoe joins the rubber sole, the material is tough and rough, and seems to have a better than average bond.

Anyway, the shoes have been comfortable and fit pretty well, though my feet have caused the shoes to expand sideways and become unevenly stretched. The shoes also have metal 'stirrups' so that you are able to tighten or loosen the laces based on your mood (However, they feel pretty flimsy). Baseline, the shoes are comfortable.

The shoes are have been pretty rugged, and have not torn or had any holes. Of course the sole has been worn down, and the front most ends of the soles eventually started to peel slightly, like bananas.

The insides of the shoes however, are not so tough, the cloth that is under the heel has been worn down, and the vertical area behind the heel has been torn up (might be partially due to me just shoving my feet into the shoe without pulling out the tongue)

So I decide that I'd give the shoe an 8 out of 10. Mainly because its rugged.
