I think that when those who people go
around shooting other seemingly random
people, before turning the gun on
themselves, would have been thinking
one or more of the following:
"Life has no meaning"
"I'm a bloody fucker who doesn't deserve to live"
"My life has been screwed"
Together with,
"But I have a grudge, these fuckers wronged me.
They screwed with my life"
Then they think,
"Why not make the world a better place and
take out a whole load of fuckers together ?"
(Including him/herself)
"Eureka! What a great idea! Let's move out!"
(cue the"lock n' load" sound from CS)
-------
Or maybe they only considered all this
after hearing of the massacre concept,
or maybe seeing it in a movie.
Or only got the idea after the first
guy went out to do a public shooting.
It makes me wonder if the 1st NTU EE
guy who failed to kill his prof. would
have gone to take out the fellow who took
over his scholarship if he knew who the
fellow was (and if he was successful at
his attempt on the prof.)

This is what you call an ego booster:

I think it's skewed. I doubt that being able to
spot a few patterns here and there equates with
being a great mind.
Or if it is indeed accurate, then maybe a lot of
people around my IQ might be like me too.
That may explain why they need to have these
societies which require an IQ of at least x to be
part of.
This way, we have an avenue to be sociable,
not because we may be sociable, but maybe
because we think similar uncommon thoughts
that might offend others or something.
