The Mistake of Being Afraid of Mistakes?

Most little kids learn and absorb fast, so they pick up skills like using the computer and surprising their parents rather quickly. When you reach an age where your brains aren't so fresh, it seems that you learn slower. But I think that there is a little that the average stale-brained individual can do to learn faster. I think that would be being a lot less afraid of making mistakes.

For example I've heard quite a few tales about how some fellow's kid picked up the computer while he still has trouble using it. I think that his trouble stems from being afraid to make mistakes, which probably stem from being afraid of the consequences. This seems to result in our fellow being less willing to click in unfamiliar places, compared to the kid who does not have this handicap.

Then again the kid may not have this handicap because the kid doesn't know that he/she is making a mistake, or it may be that the kid would have a lot fewer consequences to deal with if they did make a mistake. Just speculating.
