Unable To Scoop Out Eye

I've started trying to swim. Think I'm doing fine on my own for now, and can float face down diagonally, and move forward, but only really slowly. The sound of my toe knuckles cracking also seems much louder when my head is under water. The view under the water is a lot blurrier and is probably reduced to a myopic distance of something less than 5 metres.

Maybe its a coincidence, but I've also started having dreams again. Though I've yet to have a pleasant dream, I still think it's a big improvement over not having dreams. This is because it means I'm reaching deeper levels of sleep, which is somehow good for my brain. Need to preserve my deteriorating noggin.

The stuff I dream about is stuff that is pretty gritty, and usually doesn't get a chance to end positively, reason being that I get up first, or transition to a different dream. Then again maybe it does finish happily, but I don't remember it...

Some people say that dreams are predictions of whats going to happen in your life. Others say its the opposite of whats going to happen. Other others say its symbolic of something in your life. I roughly favour the symbolism one.

Anyway, here's what I remember of one of the dreams.

The water was the same blue as a typical swimming pool. I was being driven underwater with some guy with either no eyelids or a permanent glare etched on his face (didn't see any blinking). He was trying to strangle or drown me, and had both hands on either side of my neck. My right arm clinching the back of the guy's neck and he was above, and was continually driving me deeper underwater. So I pulled him along deeper into the water, and tried to improve my position by simultaneously pushing my foot against his bladder area and pulling my opponent to the side.

Soon enough we are side by side, and I try to punch his face using a long fist. That doesn't work, so I try attacking his temples instead. Not even a flinch. It's underwater, so the resistance is greater, and it doesn't work. Next I try digging out one of the fellow's eyes, and despite using a lot of strength, I could reach my pointing or middle finger in behind the eye but couldn't scoop it out. It was as if my opponent's eyes were connected to his brain by steel cable. After a few more tries and a lot of swearing in my head, I begin using the long fist to hit and then press in the same eye, and just about then I think he gets the choke on, and I see a few bubbles rising from my mouth, and in response, purse my lips.

Then I wake up.

I think all this happened in under 5 minutes, but my sense of time was distorted in the dream. The nice thing about it was that I didn't have much breath control problems, until the choke was put into proper position. Yeah, I think I'm going nuts too.
